Changing the definition of “waste” in a circular economy

Ultimately, zero waste-to-landfill is exactly what it sounds like: It is diverting all waste from going to landfills for disposal.
Businesses and communities are getting there by moving up the waste hierarchy, which consists of the 4 R’s:

-
Reducing your consumption and waste of materials
-
Reusing materials wherever possible
-
Recycling and composting
-
Recovering energy from whatever is left over
-

In essence, it’s all about reducing waste and reusing the waste we do generate.
